Cookies
Second Shift does not use cookies on this website.
We do not track you. We do not set persistent identifiers in your browser. We do not use advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts. We do not need to ask you to accept anything.
What we do set
The only data your browser stores as a result of visiting this site is whatever the browser caches from standard web requests — fonts, images, and the pages themselves — for the purpose of making return visits faster. This is the normal behaviour of all websites, is controlled entirely by your browser, and does not identify you.
Analytics
We use a privacy-preserving analytics tool to understand how many people read each page. It runs without cookies and does not collect personal data or device identifiers. If we ever introduce something that behaves differently, we will update this page and ask your consent at that point.
Embedded content
This site occasionally embeds external links to other websites (the ICO, our cloud providers, etc). We do not embed video players, social media widgets, or third-party scripts. Following a link takes you to the external site, where that site’s cookie policy — not ours — applies.
Why we don't have a cookie banner
The cookie banners common to most websites exist because those websites set cookies or load trackers that require your consent under the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Because we do not do this, we do not need your consent, and we would rather not pretend to ask for it as a branding gesture.
If we change our posture — for example, by running a remarketing campaign for which a pixel is genuinely needed — this page will be updated accordingly, and any such tracking will be behind a consent mechanism.
